The Medical Education Department (MED) is one of the biggest achievements the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) was able to obtain and achieve successfully. The department was established in 2020 to address the never-ending journey of learning and development, especially in medical and health education. FMHS is one of the most prestigious faculties in Palestine and has always been doing its best to achieve the best experience for its students.

Mission

The core function of the department is to enhance and improve the learning-teaching process in the faculty of medicine and health sciences through continuous improvement of the curriculums, teaching methods, and evaluation methods for improving the students’ education and improving students’ feedback.

Goals

  1. Will oversee the integration of the curriculum, update teaching methods, and utilize academic staff and students' feedback to improve curriculum content in a continuous quality improvement manner.
  2. Support, strengthen, and coordinate the activities of the Medical Program Committee and other committees' functions in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
  3. Coordinate students’ research projects alongside the Scientific Research Unit to enhance the quality of research and avoid duplication.
  4. Adopt and apply a quality assurance approach to the faculty’s academic achievements and the teaching-learning process.
  5. Fulfill the requirements of recognized international accreditation procedures for the academic programs in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and guarantee the continued renewal thereafter.

Scientific Research Unit 

  • Partnership with local and international entities to foster collaboration and joined research

Staff Development and Appraisal Unit

  • CE activities to enhance teaching knowledge and skills.
  • Staff support in the elaboration of personnel development plans (PDP) and creation of portfolios.

Curriculum and Accreditaion Unit

  • Monitor the curriculum implementation.
  • Assist in the delivery of the curriculum.
  • Assist in the international accreditation of health programs (dentistry, nursing….etc).
  • Organize CE activities and workshops related to teaching theories, tools and assessment techniques.

Student Affairs Unit

  • Integrate students in the teaching-learning process.
  • Develop joined activities with student ‘s association.
