An-Najah's Neuroscience Center concluded the second round of "ToBe" program in partnership with 59 students from the Rosary Sisters' High School in Jerusalem on Sunday August 8, 2021 at Prince Turki Bin Abdul Aziz Theater-New Campus.


The event was attended by Prof. Abdel Nasser Zeid, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Abdel-Khaleq Issa, Vice President Assistant for Academic Affairs, Humanities, and Dr. Dr. Majdi‎ Dwaikat, Vice President Assistant for Academic Affairs, Scientific Faculties, and Dr. Muhammad Al-Qunaibi, Director of the Center for Neuroscience, and Mr. Khaled Al-Husseini, Director of the Public Relations Department at the University.

Representatives from the Rosary Sisters' High School attended the event, including Ms. Ludfina Jadallah, Vice Principal of Rosary Sisters' High School, and Mr. George Sabbat, Supervisor of the English Language Curriculum, and Mr. Fadi Koraytem, ​​the school's public relations officer, as well as students' parents and families.

The event started with a welcome speech by Dr. Al-Qunaibi, Director who welcomed the attendees, and pointed out that the "ToBe" program aims at replacing the traditional methods of teaching and fostering critical thinking, life skills, value education, analytical skills and decision-making skills in students.

He added:" Teaching styles have changed significantly over the years. The traditional way that education was delivered was through recitation and memorization techniques, whereas the modern way of doing things involves interactive methods."

"ToBe" Program is being administered by An-Najah National University as part of the "Research Experience for School Students" initiative (RESS).

The Research Experience for School Students is designed to improve the quality of science education in Palestinian schools through providing school students with an opportunity to learn about and experience scientific research. The student enters into a mentor/mentee relationship with the University to achieve a specific goal or project for four weeks (8 sessions), during which students receive several trainings, including neurobiology, biochemistry, and others
