
On the evening of Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, An-Najah National University, held its annual meeting. The event was attended by Prof. Abdel Nasser Zaid, President of An-Najah National University, Dr. Fares Abu Shamma, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Shadi Khelfa, Director of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Abdul Latif Daraghmeh, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Souad Belkbir, Head of the Medical Education Unit, along with several faculty members.
Dr. Abdul Latif Daraghmeh welcomed the attendees, stressing the significance of such meetings in fostering communication, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas among colleagues. He highlighted the value of continuous dialogue in strengthening the department’s educational and clinical missions.
Prof. Zaid expressed his pleasure in meeting with the Faculty of Medicine’s teaching staff, reiterating the university's unwavering support for academic excellence and development. He emphasized the importance of international student exchange programs as a means of broadening expertise and advancing the university’s global standing in medical education.

On a different note, Dr. Fares Abu Shamma stressed the important and vital role of part-time faculty members, noting that they are an essential part of the teaching staff, connected to the department clinically, and entitled to academic ranks and rights similar to their full-time colleagues.
Dr. Souad Belkbir highlighted the importance of student follow-up and feedback to improve their performance, while Dr. Asma Khalfeh, the coordinator of the Obstetrics and Gynecology course, gave a comprehensive presentation on the student handbook, attendance instructions, and clarified the responsibilities of both supervisors and students. She also explained the examination and assessment mechanisms.
In conclusion, Dr. Shadi Khalfeh thanked the attendees for this wonderful meeting, praised the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for their continued excellence in activities and preparations, and mentioned the challenges and difficulties facing the educational process in the current circumstances.
