
Abeer Samhan, a Human Medicine student at the Faculty of Medicine and Human Sciences at An-Najah National University, recently won the silver medal in the Muay Thai Championship held in the UAE. She participated as a member of the Palestinian national Muay Thai team, reflecting the university’s commitment to sustainable development goals, including good health and equality.
Samhan shared that her journey in Muay Thai began three years ago as a hobby that grew into a passion. Despite many challenges, she advanced through the first and second rounds of the championship and reached the final, where she lost the gold by a single point. She described the experience as a valuable opportunity to learn and improve.
She thanked the Palestinian Muay Thai Federation, its President Shaker Al Shrouf, and coach Ahmad Abu Dukhan for their support. She also expressed gratitude to the Deanship of Student Affairs and An-Najah University for encouraging student participation in sports and other fields. Samhan concluded with a message to passionate individuals to pursue their dreams, especially in a supportive environment like An-Najah.
