In a continued effort to provide students with cutting-edge, real-world medical education, the Faculty of Medicine and Allied Medical Sciences at An-Najah National University recently held a dynamic meeting of its Clinical and Practical Training Committee. The gathering brought together leading voices from across the healthcare sector, including hospital directors, medical managers, and professionals from both national and local institutions, as well as representatives from An-Najah National University Hospital, the faculty’s key clinical partner.

The committee’s focus was clear: enhance the clinical training experience for students across all medical and allied health programs, including human medicine, optometry, medical imaging, lab sciences, audiology, and speech therapy. Discussions centered on the progress of clinical education and new strategies to ensure students continue to receive training that meets the highest global standards.

One highlight of the meeting was the introduction of forward-looking tools such as virtual reality in medical education, electronic portfolios to track student growth and achievement, and the continued development of the clinical simulation unit, which is considered one of the first of its kind in the country.

Participants were particularly impressed by the professionalism and skill demonstrated by An-Najah’s students during their practical training, which stands as a testament to the faculty’s dedication to excellence.

As the meeting concluded, a major announcement was made: the launch of a Scientific Research Day at the end of May, under the theme “Innovation in Health: Advancing Knowledge and Integrating Medical Education with Research and Community Health.” The event will bring together all healthcare institutions, showcasing student-led projects and research initiatives that bridge the gap between academia, scientific inquiry, and community wellbeing.
