A Personal Development Plan (PDP) is a structured framework that helps healthcare professionals, students and residents to identify learning needs, set measurable goals, and track their continuous professional development (CPD) to enhance clinical and teaching competencies.
Recognizing the critical role of lifelong learning in healthcare, the Medical Education, Staff Development and Appraisal Unit (MEU) at the faculty of Medicine and Allied Health sciences, An-Najah National University prioritizes supporting staff in CPD activities and PDP development as part of its mission to foster excellence in medical practice.
On June 19, 2025, the MEU organized and delivered a dynamic PDP training workshop led by Dr. Souad Belkebir, Head of the MEU, attended by clinical staff, residents, and medical students at An-Najah National University Hospital. The interactive session focused on creating SMART professional development goals, with practical exercises in drafting actionable PDPs for teaching, research, and clinical skills improvement.
Participants learned to align their learning objectives with institutional standards while developing measurable outcomes and timelines, emphasizing continuous growth as healthcare professionals.
The MEU will support implementation and review progress in 2025, reinforcing the value of structured PDPs for enhancing medical education and patient care.
