The Urology Center of Excellence at An-Najah National University Hospital (NNUH) has once again been awarded international accreditation by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), a prestigious global body that recognizes healthcare institutions meeting the highest standards of surgical quality and patient care. This renewed recognition reinforces NNUH’s unwavering commitment to excellence and cements its reputation as one of the region’s leading surgical centers.

On this occasion, H.E. Prof. Rami Al-Hamdallah, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of NNUH and Vice Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, received a delegation from the Urology Center of Excellence, represented by Dr. Iyad Maqbool, CEO of the Hospital; Dr. Faris Abushamma, Head of the Center and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Allied Medical Sciences; and members of the Hospital’s Board of Directors.

Prof. Al-Hamdallah praised the outstanding efforts of the Center’s team over the past years, which culminated in this renewed SRC accreditation. He described the milestone—the first of its kind locally and regionally—as a testament to the hospital’s leadership at both the national and regional levels. He further noted that the recognition reflects years of teamwork and collaboration, with physicians, specialists, residents, nurses, and administrators all contributing. He emphasized that such achievements demonstrate the hospital’s steadfast commitment to advancing the quality of healthcare services in Palestine.

For his part, Dr. Abushamma highlighted that the accreditation is the product of collective effort, stating: “This success is a qualitative addition to the distinguished medical services we are proud to deliver to our beloved Palestine.”

The delegation also commended Prof. Al-Hamdallah for his continued support of the hospital and its specialized centers, particularly in light of the upcoming expansion of NNUH and the soon-to-open NNUH Mother and Child Center, which will represent another milestone in the University and Hospital’s delivery of advanced healthcare services to the Palestinian community.
