Mr. Jafar Hindi, International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (IPSF) - An-Najah University Branch board of trustees' member and ex-president was elected as the new chairperson of IPSF Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office.


Mr. Hindi got this position during the elections of the 11th Regional Assembly of the EMRO region to select the regional working group. He was also selected as Regional Relations Officer for the year 2019.

He is now responsible for representing the region in the pharmaceutical forums on behalf of pharmacy students and speaks on behalf of them. He is also responsible for managing the regional students' projects and managing the regional working group, knowing that EMRO region consists of 19 Member Organizations from different 12 countries in the Eastern Mediterranean and North African Region.

IPSF is the leading international advocacy organization for pharmacy students with the aim to promote improved public health through the provision of information, education, and networking opportunities as well as a range of publications and professional initiatives. It represents over 400,000 pharmacy students from more than 95 countries around the world. And the federation is managed by the executive committee.

The Federation participates annually in the World Health Assembly of the World Health Organization and delivers policy and advocacy statements on behalf of pharmacy students. In addition, it participates in the local events being held by the region and the two annual most important gatherings are the Regional Assembly and the General Assembly in the World Congress.

It is noteworthy that the 11th RA was supposed to happen in Beirut, Lebanon. But due to COVID-19 crisis, the Regional Assembly was held online.
