
As part of its commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education, good health, and well-being, the Medical Laboratory Students' Association at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, An-Najah National University, organized an awareness activity in collaboration with the Mothers' School Society in Nablus on October 31, 2024, under the supervision of the Deanship of Student Affairs.
The initiative, designed to engage youth, began with an overview of the association’s objectives and activities, emphasizing the importance of self-care. Yazan Al-Bozour, President of the Medical Laboratory Students' Association, outlined the event's key components, which included blood type (ABO) testing conducted by the team. A scientific seminar complemented the practical activity, offering detailed explanations of blood testing procedures, the classifications of blood types, and the health risks posed by energy drinks, with a particular focus on their detrimental impact on youth.
The event concluded with a lighthearted entertainment segment and formal acknowledgments to the Mothers' School Society for their warm reception. Discussions also took place to explore potential future collaborations, reinforcing the shared commitment to community well-being.
Mr. Eyad Al-Aqra’, Director of Student Affairs at An-Najah National University, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering social responsibility and strengthening the bonds between student associations and civil society organizations. He emphasized that these activities reflect the university’s dedication to equipping students with both practical and scientific expertise. Mr. Al-Aqra’ also reiterated that the university, through the Deanship of Student Affairs, provides students with an enabling environment to express their potential and implement impactful initiatives that contribute positively to society, both within and beyond the campus.
