Scientometrics of Springe, an international journal for all quantitative aspects of science, communication in science and science policy, recently published a citation analysis study titled: "Deep and narrow impact: introducing location filtered citation counting".

The study tests a citation counting method that filters out citations in the introductory and backgrounds sections and then weighs the remaining citations by their in-text frequency.

The study ranked two researchers of An-Najah University; namely. Prof. Waleed Sweileh, Dean of Scientific Research, ranked 4th place and Dr. Saed Zyoud ranked 6th place among world cited authors.

Scientometrics is concerned with the quantitative features and characteristics of science and research. Emphasis is placed on investigations in which the development and mechanism of science are studied by statistical mathematical methods.
