Call Details:

Number of Positions: Two students will be selected for this call on the following topics:

1. Isolation, structural elucidation and bioactivity of natural compounds from natural matrix.
2. Paper-based biosensors.

Position 1: This position is reserved for a student with an interest in Isolation, structural elucidation and bioactivity of natural compounds from natural matrix, in particular it focuses its activity on exploring the unique biodiversity of natural products from marine sponges and cyanobacteria as lead compounds for nutraceutical and pharmacological applications.

Supervisors: Asst. Prof. Manar Abdalrazeq (An-Najah National University),

Prof. Valeria Costantino (Federico II University).

Position 2: This position is reserved for a student with an interest in the design, characterization and application of electrochemical sensors and biosensors to clinical, pharmaceutical, environmental and agri-food fields. Mainly its research topic will focus on:

Paper-based devices using filter and office papers as the substrates for electrodes’ making.

Supervisors: Assoc. Prof. Mohyeddin Assali (An-Najah National University),

Assoc. Prof. Stefano Cinti (Federico II University).

CRITERIA FOR THE FORMULATION OF THE RANKING

The Committee will assign the score as follows:

• Max. 15 points for the evaluation of the academic Merites.
• Max. 10 points for the motivational letter.
• Max. 15 points for the oral interview.
• Max. 10 points for English language knowledge.

* An additional 2 points will be ranked for female students.

What is Erasmus+ Student Mobility could offer?

Erasmus+ Student Mobility for Studies enables students to embark on a specified research period at the receiving university (Pharmacy department, University of Naples, Italy), providing them with invaluable academic and cultural experiences.

Grant Support:

Selected students will receive a monthly support grant amount of 800 Euros and 350 Euros for travel costs.

Eligibility Criteria:

Master students Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at An-Najah National University are eligible to apply for this program, also the student must meet the following criteria:

1. The student must have completed all courses to obtain a master’s degree by the summer semester of 2024.
2. The application must be filled out completely and all required documents must be submitted.
3. Students proficient in English (B1 at least) or Italian (A2 at least)

Application Deadline:

The deadline for submitting applications through the Erasmus+ Application Form is June 3, 2024. Oral interview will be in June 5, 2024.

Mobility Period:

The mobility period spans up to three months, starting from September 1st to December 1st, 2024. This timeframe offers flexibility for students to plan and organize their research stay abroad experience effectively.

• Current transcript in English.
• A self-evaluation form for the English language.
• CV in English.
• A copy of the passport.
