  • Optometry clinic is located in faculty of pharmacy at An-Najah National university and is supervised by optometry department.
  • Optometry clinic is established in 2004 in order to achieve the training objectives for optometry students in practical courses. The clinic services have improved over the years and the improvement continues.
  • Optometry clinic in supervised and managed directly by the Head of the Optometry department, Dr.Ithar Besthawi (PhD in Optometry from Manchester University/UK).
  • Optometry department contains of all necessary devices of high quality to train students and learn them the full eye examination and this is supervised by specialized medical teaching staff.
  • Optometry clinic provides all free evaluation and diagnostic examinations for the university students and workers and for all people of the local and national community. These examinations include of examination of the health of all eye parts, refractive errors examination, give medical prescriptions and medical eyeglasses and contact lenses prescription and low vision rehabilitation.
  • Optometry clinic had academic and teaching impression. In this clinic, optometry students are trained in their practical courses and this is supervised by the Head of the Optometry Department, optometry lecturers, ophthalmologists, and four teaching assistants help in the supervision of the optometry students in practical courses.
  • Optometry clinic is opened five days a week from 8:00 to 3:30.

  • The Low Vision Rehabilitation Clinic is located on the ground floor of the College of Pharmacy - An-Najah National University / Nablus.
  • The Low Vision Rehabilitation Clinic was established in 2017 to achieve training goals of students in conducting a comprehensive assessment of visual impairment. It concentrated mostly on emphasizing on history taking, assessment Visual Acuity at distance and near, Visual Field test, Contrast Sensitivity test. In addition to calculate the magnification, choosing the appropriate devices, training and advises, followed by discussion, debriefing and lessons learned.
  • It was equipped with tools and devices for examining patients with low vision In addition to training in the use of visual aids includes standing and hand-held magnifiers, magnifying reading glasses, telescopes, screen magnifiers and other devices to enable students to improve practical skills in the course of Low Vision.
  • The Low Vision Rehabilitation clinic provides all free evaluation examinations to students and workers at An-Najah National University and to all groups of the local and national.

  • The Clinical Dispensing Laboratory is located in the faculty of pharmacy-Najah National University (NNU) /Nablus-Palestine.
  • It was founded in 2004 to accomplish training goals for students in optometry program, and eye optometry and dispensing courses.
  • It was prepared with all devices of high universal quality that include automatic edger device, manual edging device, lensometers devices, decentration devices, lens drilling, lenses dyes, lens groover devices, in addition to various lenses and frames, so students will be able to cut and assemble various of medical glasses.
  • The optometry dispensing laboratory offers various free optic services from repairing to assembling of lenses and preparing medical glasses for students and employees at NNU, and for all classes of local and national society who in need, in form of social activities, campaigns and optometry students' training, among these;( donate your old glasses for an indigent person) campaign under the supervision of Mrs Dianeh Rabi.
  • Additionally, the appropriate glasses and lenses are being selected for referred patients from primary vision clinic, to enable students to prepare medical frames within correct measurements and standards under supervisors of their supervisors.
  • The laboratory is supervised directly by Mrs Dianeh Rabi (master in clinical optometry and eye medicine-Manchester university).

The Medical Imaging Laboratory was opened in order to prepare students in the best possible way to be qualified and trained medical cadres with high potential, and it has been equipped with the necessary devices and equipment for the desired purpose.

Equipments

  • X-ray Machine: The lab contains an X-Ray FUJIFILM type where the student can apply and practice all possible imaging positions.
  • Ultrasound Imaging Device: The lab contains an Ultrasound SONOSCAPE device.
  • Quality Measuring Devices: The lab contains diverse devices used in quality evaluation for the lab equipments and the delivered images, and in calculating the radiation dose for the safety of students and patients. On the other hand, these devices are used in many research in the medical imaging department.

  • The Audiology clinic is located in 3rd floor of Art faculty in An-Najah National University /Nablus- Palestine.
  • The place was chosen in the quietest area in the university so there is a very little ambient noise.
  • The clinic was established for the aim of training Audiology and Speech Pathology students / Audiology and Speech Pathology Department- An-Najh National University in audiology clinical practicum, audiological evaluation and hearing aids courses.
  • The clinic was established in 2016. It is fully equipped with high standards audiology equipments which include: Otoscope, Tuning fork, Diagnostic Pure tone Audiometer (PTA) settled with a standard built in auditory cabinet, Tympanometry.
  • In addition to that the clinic serves as a hearing aid lab for teaching the students of how to perform ear impression and hearing aid selection and fitting process under the supervision of Mr. Bahjat asla (MSc audiology /University of Haifa).
  • This clinic provides free audiological assessment and diagnostic services for An- Najah National University Students and employees and for people of the local and national community who need those services.
  • Many children also referred from the Speech and Language clinic in An-Najah University for the audiological assessment as a primary step after speech and language assessment.
  • The clinic is mainly directed and supervised by an academic tutor in Audiology and Speech Pathology Department Ms. Samar Alkhaldi (MSc Audiology/ University of Southampton).

  • It is directly related to the ENT department headed by Dr Mazen Kazlak (ENT Surgeon).
  • The clinic was established in 2013. It is fully equipped with all high standards audiology equipments which include: Otoscope, Tuning fork, Diagnostic Pure tone Audiometer (PTA) settled with an auditory cabinet, Tympanometry, Auditory Brain Stem Response (ABR), Diagnostic and Screening Otoacoustic emission (DPOAE, TEOAE). Videonstagmogram (VNG).
  • The audiology clinic provides audiology assessment and diagnostic services to all pediatric and adult population in the local and national community by a qualified audiologist.
  • Besides, it provides training services that related to clinical practicum courses for the students of Audiology and Speech Pathology Department at An-Najah National University under the supervision of the courses academic tutor Ms. Samar Alkhaldi (MSc Audiology/ University of Southampton).
  • Patient referral for the audiology clinic is mainly depends on the busy ENT clinic which referred nearly 5-7 patients daily for audiology assessment and diagnosis in the working hours 8-3.

  • The Speech and Language clinics (3 clinics with observation room for each one) is located in An-Najah National University/Nablus- Palestine.
  • It is directly related to the Audiology and Speech Pathology Department.
  • It is fully equipped with all high standards speech and language equipments which include variety of tools and technologies to assist with evaluation, diagnosis and rehabilitation of individuals both young and old. Whether it is assessing communication skills through speech or cognition or for intervention.
  • The tools and technologies available are: Computers and TV, Different Data Collection Forms for Speech and language Therapists, Sign Language cards for Common First Words, language cards (verb, adjectives, names, Story Sequencing, Prepositions ...etc) , Phonological and Articulation Disorders test, Articulation cards, Training Videos, Preschool Vocabulary and Question Cards, Stuttering Severity Instrument – Fourth Edition, Preschool Language Scale – Fifth Edition (PLS-4,) Musical instrument, Puzzle, Toys, Toys for blowing and breathing ,feather, bubbles, cotton ball, Stories for different ages, Sensory, Fine Motor Toys.
  • Speech-language pathologists at the An Najah University Speech and language Clinics have expertise in: Communication development; Language-based learning disabilities; Communication deficits associated with syndromes; Developmental and acquired neurological disorders; Bilingual communication; Augmentative and alternative communication, Fluency disorders; Speech-sound disorders, such as articulation and phonological disorders, apraxia of speech and dysarthria and Cognitive-communicative disorders resulting from traumatic brain injury. In addition, our clinics serves adults, adolescents, and children by a qualified therapist .
  • We also offer specialized services targeting listening and speaking skills in people with hearing impairment and services for An Najah University students including therapy for: Fluency disorders (e.g. stuttering) and Articulation.
  • Besides, it provides training services that related to clinical practicum courses for the students of Audiology and Speech Pathology Department at An-Najah National University under the supervision of the courses academic tutor Dr. Hala. Jarrar speech therapist (PhD / University of Minho) and four assistant teachers (audiologist and speech language pathologist/ Bachelor degree).
  • Patients referral for the speech and language clinics nearly 5-7 for each clinic the working hours 8-15.

  • It is directly related to the Audiology and Speech Pathology Department. The clinic was established in 2015.
  • It is fully equipped with high standards voice equipments which include variety of tools and technologies to assist with evaluation, diagnosis and rehabilitation of individuals both young and old.
  • The tools and technologies available are: Different Data Collection Forms, Training Videos, Dr. Speech software (version a.81), Dr Speech/ Nasal View (version1.4), Spirometer, and three-dimensional models of the larynx.
  • The voice clinic offer specialized services targeting children and adult voice disorders.
  • Besides, it provides training services that related to clinical practicum courses for the students of Audiology and Speech Pathology Department at An-Najah National University under the supervision of the courses academic Dr. Hala. Jarrar speech therapist (PhD / University of Minho).
  • Patients referral for the voice clinics depending in available patients from population in the local and national community or from the students and workers from An Najah University nearly (2-3) during the week. clinic the working hours 8-3.

Palestinian Child Institute

  • Palestinian child institute is institute affiliated with An Najah National University Nablus/ Palestine which follows the modern educational methods in dealing with all categories of special educational needs children based on scientific and global criteria.
  • The institute was established in 2014.
  • It is equipped with various services and programs with all high standards equipments.

The institute has three main sections:

  1. Clinics Unit which include: Speech and language therapy clinics (two clinics), Occupational Therapy clinic, Psychological Counseling clinic, and Special Education clinic.
  2. Montessori Kindergarten.
  3. Research and Training Unit.

The objectives of the institute:

  • An-Najah Child Institute is a multidisciplinary institute aims to Provide early detection and diagnosis for children who have early childhood disorders.
  • Development of qualified clinical experiences and skills in the field of child care.
  • Contribute effectively to social change and preventive interventions that improve the health of children who have from early childhood disorders.
  • Planning and conducting research in the field of early childhood disorder.

  • The physiotherapy labs were established in 2015 alongside with the establishment of the physiotherapy program.
  • The two fully equipped physiotherapy labs are located in An-Najah National University, Nablus, Palestine and directly related to the Department of Allied and Applied Medical Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
  • The labs are designed and equipped to meet the academic standards that students are expected to accomplish and achieve the best clinical practice knowledge and skills based on the most up to date evidence-based practice.
  • The Machines and equipment’s offer the students the chance to accomplish complete primary clinical practice before they start their clinical field work practice at hospitals and rehabilitation centers. In addition the labs are fully equipped to meet the clinical demand of each core theoretical module that students are required and expected to finish by the end of their studies, such specialty core modules are; musculoskeletal, orthopedic, neurology (neuro rehab), pediatric, sport injuries and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
  • Equipment’s and machines include; physical modalities (electro, ultrasound, laser, TENS, EMS, Hydrocollator, cryotherapy, paraffin wax and mechanical traction bed), aerobic, strengthening equipment’s. There are also eight assessment beds for orthopedic and therapeutic exercise skills, parallel bars and stairs station for gait and walking training, pulley rehab cage fully equipped for orthopedic and neuro rehabilitation training, assessment skills kits and equipment’s for vital sign, oximeter, spirometer, range of motion, muscle strength, reflexes, balance, co-ordination, cardiac and respiratory monitoring.
  • The labs mission is mainly to prepare students for all requited knowledge, skills and evidence-based clinical practices before they start their clinical practice placements.
  • The department vision is to open outpatient clinics to provide a physiotherapy service to external and internal referrals. As students could achieve clinical practice alongside their labs requirements before they allocated to the external clinical practice placements.
