The vision of the physical therapy program is to be recognized regionally as an outstanding physical therapy education program that prepares students to be leaders and effective health care providers within interprofessional teams and their profession to enhance healthcare services in Palestine.

The program is also considered the nucleus to the postgraduate program in physiotherapy in the future, by preparing qualified researchers and cadres that follow the evidence-based scientific healthcare research in addressing the healthcare needs of their organizations and community.

Our mission as a national university is to graduate exceptional physical therapists with high professional competence and a distinguished scientific level within the framework of professional ethics through evidence-based education and practice to contribute to the promotion of physical therapy to serve the community.

As the Applied and Allied Medical Sciences department in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is cooperated and linked academically and organizationally with An-Najah National University Hospital, which is in line with the Palestinian national plan of where providing distinguished programs according to the needs of the Palestinian community.

  1. Developing physical therapists who are specialists in assessing, diagnosing, and treating different health conditions using evidence-based practice.
  2. Providing the health sectors and institutions with a qualified physical therapists that will contribute in meeting the community’s needs.
  3. Enhancing the student’s effective communication skills in dealing with patients and their families. Also, developing the student’s professionality in cooperation and communication with other healthcare providers/team.
  4. Developing students' skills in reducing and preventing medical complications normally associated with patients and helping them to retain and maintain optimal level of health to go back to community to live as normal as possible.
  5. Increasing community awareness of the important role of physiotherapy in evaluating and diagnosing various health conditions.
  6. Providing counselling services to the local community regarding Physiotherapy.
  7. Employing technology in the development of Physiotherapy.
  8. Preparing a student who has the ability to use the most appropriate tools, devices and technologies in Physiotherapy.
  9. Preparing students to have the basic knowledge in the relevant sciences such as physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, chemistry ... etc. and to employ it in their clinical practice.
  10. Developing students' skills in conducting and designing scientific research and implementing the continuous education and training method in physical therapy.
  11. Setting accredited references for students and specialists in this field from inside the country and from abroad, and establishing regional and international relations to support the continuous development of this specialization.
  • Successfully completed 138 credit hours, which include the university's compulsory requirements, and the college's compulsory and elective requirements as stipulated in the study plan.
  • The student must successfully complete the required courses within a period of 4 years as a minimum.

  • The minimum passing mark for each course is 60%.
  • A student who does not pass a course (achieved D- or below) is allowed to repeat the failed course up to two times.
  • students are allowed to retake any course to raise their grade point average (GPA).
