The Department of audiology and speech Sciences is committed to advancing the scientific understanding of human communication and its disorders, and to improving the lives of people with communication and associated challenges across the life span. Our bachelor’s degree in Audiology and Speech Sciences provides you with extraordinary learning opportunities and exceptional pre-professional preparation. You’ll work with faculty who stand at the forefront of research and clinical practice, while observing clinical practice in our on-campus Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Clinic.

The mission of the programs in Audiology and Speech Sciences is to provide academic and clinical training for undergraduate, and to benefit the professions and community through our educational programs, research endeavors, and clinical activities.

  1. Providing the relevant sectors and institutions with a qualified scientific cadre that will contribute in meeting the community’s needs in Audiology and Speech problems.
  2. Developing students' ability to meet the patient needs for different ages of both genders.
  3. Developing students' skills in reducing and preventing medical complications normally associated with patients and helping them to retain and maintain optimal level of health to go back to community to live as normal as possible.
  4. Developing students' ability to present different treatment and physiotherapy modalities used to treat patients who need help.
  5. Providing students with the required skills in training and rehabilitating patients to the required health level.
  6. Preparing and presenting community awareness educational programs on the importance of Audiology and Speech sciences.
  7. Providing counselling services to the local community regarding Audiology and Speech sciences.
  8. Developing administrative skills for those working in institutions offering Audiology and Speech sciences.
  9. Employing technology in the development of Audiology and Speech.
  10. Preparing students to use necessary tools and equipment of Audiology and Speech.
  11. Preparing students to have the basic knowledge in the related sciences such as Physiology, Biometrics and Chemistry.
  12. Setting accredited references for students from home and abroad and developing regional and international relations to support the continuous development of this specialization.
  • To earn a bachelor degree in audiology and speech sciences, a student must complete 138 credit hours. These include completion of university, college, department compulsory and elective courses.

  • A student who does not pass a course (achieved D- or below) is allowed to repeat the failed course up to two times.
