Bachelor of Anesthesia and Resuscitation Technology is a four-year bachelor program aims to develop health professionals who are competent to work in healthcare settings with skills specific to anesthesia.

Anesthesia technologists are involved with all aspects of care delivery to patients who are in need for perioperative anesthetic care and provide a key role in the emergency resuscitation of patients, taking into account the patients’ religious and cultural beliefs and respecting their right to medical privacy and dignity at all times.

Students enrolled in this program will be able to develop appropriate knowledge and skills required to work as a vital member with other healthcare professionals in different healthcare settings, which are related to his/ her specialty, mostly in the surgical operative related units,

The total number of credit hours for the program is 138 credit hours that are offered through compulsory university courses, compulsory specialization courses, and elective courses.

The mission of BSc. in Anesthesia and Resuscitation program is to:

• Prepare highly skilled, competent and committed professional anesthesia technologists to work and strengthen the surgical healthcare workforce in the region.
• Prepare graduates to assume leadership roles in operation room policies and standards through a challenging teaching-learning environment, evidence-based research and inter-professional collaboration.
• Develop anesthesia technologist professionals of international standards and setting a benchmark to attract the best of students.

This program has been developed to provide a graduate in anesthesia and resuscitation prepared to work under the supervision of the anesthesiologist with many competencies witch include the Professional Values, Communication, Team Work, Anesthesia practice, Leadership / Management and Research and Evidence-Based Practice

• To earn a bachelor degree in Anesthesia and Resuscitation Program, a student must complete 138 credit hours. These include completion of compulsory university courses, compulsory specialization courses, and elective courses.
• Spend a minimum of 4 years in the program.

Grading Scale for Anesthesia and Resuscitation Technology Courses

• The minimum passing mark for each course is 60%.

• A student who does not pass a course (achieved D- or below) is allowed to repeat the failed course up to two times.
• students are allowed to retake any course to raise their grade point average (GPA).

• A graduate of BA in Anesthesiology and Resuscitation plays a vital role in the Anesthesiology team. He is extensively trained in providing safe and high quality anesthesia as well as monitoring patients and following up their affairs before, during and after anesthesia and operations.
• The job description of the graduate, based on his scientific and practical competence, will open to him, in addition to the operating rooms, an opportunity to work and supervise in the intensive care and emergency departments, dental clinics and pain clinics, in addition to graduate studies and scientific research programs.
