The International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA) is a non-political and non-profit organization recognized as one of the oldest and largest student-run organizations in the world. It was established in 1951 after the end of World War II to serve as a platform for unity, collaboration, and peace among medical students. IFMSA has a broad representation of 136 national member organizations (NMO) from 127 countries across the continents, and works in close relation with several non-governmental organizations from all over the world. It is officially recognized by the UN, the World Health Organization, and the World Medical Asso- ciation as the voice for international medical students, and is invited to many of their annual conferences.

PMSA-Nablus currently operates as a student organization affiliated with An-Najah National University-Faculty of Medicine and Health sciences.

Innovative, outgoing and professional medical students who are offered the best education and clinical skills locally and internationally with the proper capacity building, values, leadership skills and a unique research environment in order to develop Palestine and offer the best care possible.

PMSA-Nablus gathers An-Najah National University medical students with the Palestinian so- ciety to share and implement ideas for a better healthcare in Palestine. PMSA-Nablus also shares the culture of Palestine globally and improves the students' potentials by the projects and training.

The goal of The Local Committee is to serve society in Palestine and medical students in An- Najah National University by:

  • Empowering medical students in using their knowledge and capacities for the benefit of society.
  • Participating in forums for medical students throughout the world to discuss topics related to individual and community health, education and science and to formulate policies from such discussions.
  • Promoting and facilitating professional and scientific exchanges as well as projects and ex- tracurricular training for medical students at An-Najah National University, thereby exposing them to other cultures and societies and their health problems.
  • Aims to exchange ideas and knowledge to improve and evaluate work and personal skills.
  • Providing a link between medical students in An-Najah National University and various na- tional institutions and organizations.
  • Orienting medical students to become physicians with the complete set of knowledge, skills and attitude.
